Not exactly what I said, look at female character designs of the past few years, they are intentionally made to look more masculine because it was "sexualized" according to busybodies (the kind of people who try to "fix" iconic and beloved designs with some tumblr-tier trash).
Here's a recent She-hulk look https://i.redd.it/gqjbvfs9p8g61.jpg compare that to her previous look https://www.soonnight.com/images/ed.....ge/shehulk.jpg
A comparison for Captain Marvel https://i2.wp.com/pm1.narvii.com/65.....6de336b_hq.jpg
Also I didn't say the bad designs are a thing because of Tumblr, please at least don't try to misrepresent what I wrote. I said people (sadly some working in places where they get to have their crap published) make trash tier art of characters that they consider as a "fix" are like the terrible art you can find on Tumblr. A massive difference.
Let me give an example of such an "improved" design, here's Wonder Woman https://media.allure.com/photos/5f3.....eisenberg.jpeg

You seriously see no issue with those insults of art? Look, there is nothing wrong with a properly designed flat chested female character, but just going with "let's remove breasts to empower women!" mentality is beyond idiotic and quite counter productive. Since it will alienate core fans only to pander to "new fans" who don't do anything besides retweeting and liking. Also why do you want to cut off the breasts (metaphorically) of already established female characters? (just create your own or promote/endore the idea of making your own) Sounds quite mysoginistic honestly.
"I'm personally insulted when the knockers on these cartoon characters aren't big enough to appeal to my personal taste"
holy hell what an outrageous thing to be upset about
anyway I can't imagine something much more misogynistic than suggesting that a lady with a flat chest isn't feminine enough to be considered female

also who is even saying this is to empower women except like 0.0005% of tumblr or something?
even if they did say this I doubt that anything but the real reason is probably because if you google the character you get a bunch of furry porn. This isn't 1998 anymore, where only a small percentage of the world even used the internet regularly or knew how to google anything, let alone kids these days literally being glued to tablets from age 2, and I get why they'd try to drown out that kind of art for animation mostly directed at people underage, because they need to care about their brand and its public perception. Honestly the character looks practically the same anyways.

If I may, I think I now why you feel like you have to jump to the defense of the new design and its just a theory/hypothetical thing. I think its because you have a flat chested character and hearing all those make sit feel like is it an insult to how you designed your character.
Correct if I'm wrong of course.
Now personally, I add breasts to my female characters because thats what I wanted to add to there design and I also don't mind if a female character has breasts or is flat chested. its all up to the creator. and I think we should respect someone's decision whether to add breasts to a female character or make them flat. Where all free to design our characters how we like and so on. Point being we all have different opinions on the subject matter an dI think we should all just agree to disagree.

no one is actually saying characters with breasts are bad?? although there are many many hilariously bad examples in animation where animators are desperately trying to make some anthropomorphic characters read as female to the audience so they add stereotypical features like boobs or makeup to designs that otherwise have zero reason to have them
but there definitely a sizeable section of mostly guys that can not seem to accept a female character unless there's big enough boobs to their liking
any female character can have literally no boobs at all, women don't owe the world boobs to prove they're feminine enough, and people should be more appreciative and sensitive to women who don't have them

I doubt them having breasts or not determins weather or not they're female. Infact while this fellow's quote ment something way more, here's the thing:
A woman weather their tits are huge or tiny at the end of the day isn't the issue most guys actually have.
Granted: I'm not a fan of the changes they did to Lola because she wasn't really that bad to begin with. But the fact they changed Lola in this amnner I beleive is what set people off.
I know everyone is focused on Lola here, but did anyone else not notice there is another toon gal? one who isn't as sexualized? I find that character's presence alone would add a counter balance.
I'm aware that this whole thing is a tight rope, but a woman doesn't have to have tits to be strong, but why is that on other side: she has to look like a man to be strong? It sounds like the arguments on this topic has the same points, and flaws, both are kind of mysoginistic depending on you look at it.
When it comes to down to it: the question on weather a female character should have tits or not is subjective and up to the artist how they want to design the character. Everyone can have their own reason to like or dislike the character, and frankly no one should to answer or justify why they chose to design the character the way they have.
A female character can have big tits and be strong, same with small gals.
As mentioned, I am not a fan of the changes they made to Lola, but if someone else likes it, that's fine on the,.

While I agree not every female character needs to have them, its important to understand that many of these anthropomorphic characters are still cartoon characters.
Technically speaking most of the animals some are based on don't stand on two legs either, but hey its anthropomoprhic.
That being said, I think there's space for everyone.
Female anthros can have breasts big or small or none at all.
Its all depending on the individual artiest.

You see no problem with making She-Hulk literally look like Hulk in a wig?
Guess what else there's literally nothing wrong with--feminine traits. They don't diminish the strength, personality or worth of a character who has them, and the mentality that conventionally attractive or sexy characters need to be "fixed" like that or else they're an insult to women everywhere and can't possibly be fully realized characters is shitty as fuck.

no, that design is a lot more inspired and interesting than 'lanky female body builder wearing green body paint'
breasts aren't even inherently feminine anyways, there are even a lot of guys that have them, and if you think women without them can't be attractive or cool you have a rly hideous attitude are prob just overly focused on what you find personally gets you aroused than other more important characteristics

Uh, most of the time she WASN'T "lanky", she looked perfectly fine the way she was, which also went perfectly in line with her character (which has also basically just been changed to "Here's Bruce Banner but it's supposed to be Jen Walters, trust us"), they even had a nice-looking middle-ground design a couple years back, and normally I hear feminists complain when a character is "male character but girl", so I'm baffled that suddenly it's the new ideal.
I also didn't once say that women without tits can't be attractive or cool, and really, the only ones hyperfocused on these characters' looks over all else are the people who like to "fix" female character designs because they think tits and pretty faces and the like are incompatible with strength, capability and being a role model. And if you're gonna start putting words in my mouth to artificially boost your point, yeah, we're done.

Adding to this because edit time ran out by the time I grabbed the pic...
Yeah, wow, look at this lanky little waif, what a total lack of muscle tone, does she even lift?

Well .. sure she hulk may not look like a fitness painted green anymore, but now she just looks like hulk and frankly if you were tot ell me that's shehulk I wouldn't of known unless you told me. She had lost something that made her stand out from her male counterpart in that regard. Which: just like how you can break down SheHulk design as "green fitness model" you can break down this version as "It's just Hulk in a wig." sacrificing the things that make her uniqe from Hulk. Basically there's good arguments about both designs we can point out as to why the change to she-hulk was a good idea or not. However I wanna put my two cents over the whole tibackle:
Again I find that both sides of the argument have points that can honestly be broken down to simply subjectiveness. A character design doesn't necessarily have to be written off as sexist because sexy, or nessecarally deep because "patriarchy" Artists should design the characters they want, and the people can choose to react to that as they wish. You can have characters like Lola Bunny, Zero-Suit Samus, Pyra and Mythra , Ivy, and Bayonetta, all eye catching females, but if you see them in action or you actually watch them go through their stroies like Ivy's from Soul Calibur, there's ALOT of substance underneath there. At the same time you can have a female character who may not look as femeine as ever and they're basically just the male counter part in a wig. HOWEVER vice-versa is also true. It's all subjective in the end.
On that note: I wanna say that Lola in the 90s was a strong character personally. Compared to everyone else on the team she was the most competant and the most skilled out of them. Her looking sexy was just the icing on the cake, so if you can see that character in action when stuff gets really tough, that is what I personally find so appealing about that.
However I can also understand how everyone else who dislikes the design feels, over the last 4-5 years things were changed in a manner that turned some folks away from the likes of Marvel comics with their politics/propoganda etc, they're not doing well because of that. Especially at a time where comics should be doing good because hell, Manga's doing VERY well. But after the last 4-5 years of censorship, the fact that things are just taken WAY to seriously, the reactions about Lola's design is expected.
However weather you like the new look or not is purely subjective, a woman isn't weak for being sexy, and a woman can still be a woman despite lacking breasts.

Dude.. this is the only pic I could find from her in the 3D render: https://i.imgur.com/vOjcgMG.png
Granted, she doesn't look as old as Slappy Squirrel there, as she did in the drawn one. She looks like 4 which is hardly an improvement. But she's still flat.
So if you have other pictures, please share.

I think it has more to do with the fact that its Lola they changed, had it just been another female character who was introduced, or heck pulled from what every female toons they could pull from, I don't the reaction would've been bad at all.
It's subjective though. I don't think there's anything wrong with a flat chested character, but there's defintily nothing wrong with a female character having bust, women of all calibers exist.

I don't like her new design and don't plan on watching it just because I'm not a Lebron fan. So basically let the studio know how you feel, don't see it or give them money. That's the only way they will listen, hit them in their wallets. If you don't like it don't watch it. Why would you see a movie if you don't like how this studio is doing it? They won't change it like how Sonic was changed, she's not a main character and it's not about her.
As for the pic above, OG Lola is best Lola.

I'm not a fan of what they did to the 90's lola design, escpecially when we have another gal toon who frankly doesn't have the same sexulization as Lola. That alone would've added some balance.
I'm frankly thinking twice about seeing the movie personally, but we'll have to see. LeBron kinda rubs me the wrong way, and I'm concerned about more political propaganda that lies under the surface. I'll wait and see what people's opinions on the movie are before I go see it.
Everyone has their own tastes and there ain't nothing wrong with Lola's old look personally.

Yeyeyeh, good stuff! :D
I am still waiting for more 3D render shots, but the one single image they provided, and that rather terrible 2D key art sure don't give me hopes that there is any sort of "strong"ness in that new design.
Like, damn. the 90's design had thighs almost twice the size of her waist. If those were toned, she could annihilate watermelons. New design is too noodle-limbed atm. XD
