Another student of the LA downbeat skool, young Shlomo has been proving himself as one to watch with a recent XLR8R podcast and now his debut LP for Friends Of Friends, featuring remixes from Tokimonsta, devonwho, Fulgeance and Low Limit (aka Lazer Sword). Like his Cali peers Samiyam or Flylo, Shlohmo is one of those cosmically inclined cats, producing a sun-bleached sound that transfers its laidback and juicily psychedelic charge like a glugged carton of spiked OJ. The ethreal boom bap of 'Post Atmosphere' is one of our personal highlights, as is the immense 'Hot Boxing The Cockpit', sounding like Rustie meets Paavoharju, or even with the exquisitely gloopy electro-soul of 'Antigravity'. The savvy list of remixes only makes this an even more enticing package, including Tokimonsta's intricately folded remake of 'Hot Boxing...', backed next to Fulgeance's gangsta squeezing version of 'Antigravity' and Low Limit's incredible Theo-laced house-soul mix, further proving why his name is going to be every-bloody-where this year! Shlohmo stands out from his chosen crowd of beat-makers with a delicate personality and distinction that requires your attention if you've been bewitched by Ras G or Flylo.

Anything to add to the atmospherics, feel & mood. Fills up dead air and adds depth to your more ambient productions. I usually use stuff like that in intro's, breaks & outro's, or anywhere where theres only a couple elements in play.
+darkassasin101 I think the ambience Shlomo uses is one of the things that makes his songs so emotional-sounding... it just has some special effect to it that I love
